Here’s a quick overview of the journey from Preveza airport to Parga by public bus, including where to find bus timetables.
The buses in and around Preveza and its airport are run by regional bus group KTEL Preveza. You can sometimes find the schedules under the ‘E-Ticket’ section.
Unfortunately for me when I was visiting they didn’t seem to be updating it with times so it was a bit of a leap of faith!
You can also use the website Rome2Rio to look up bus journeys in Greece – I’ve found the timings are usually accurate.
As a last resort try the Facebook group Preveza Town if you can’t find the timetables online or want to know more about local routes.
Preveza Airport
It’s helpful to know that the bus stop at Preveza Airport is not signposted within the airport at all. Walk outside from arrivals and turn left. You’ll see the taxi rank and an outside cafe. Beyond that is the airport’s exit road. Follow this road – the bus stop is outside the airport.
At the junction with the main road look right – here you’ll see a bus shelter (it might be obscured from view a little). Timetables are usually pinned up within the shelter. This one is for buses heading south to Lefkada.
For buses to Preveza KTEL Bus Station you’ll need to cross the road and it’s to your left. This bus stop isn’t quite so obvious.
The buses are not timed to coincide with airport arrivals and they’re not as frequent as you might imagine. I visited in high season recently and there were only 6 per day, with the last bus running at 10 pm most days.
A taxi from Preveza Airport into Preveza is around €25 and just under 15 minutes. A taxi all the way to Parga is €85-95.

Preveza Bus Station
Preveza is a small city and its main bus terminal is located just outside the downtown area. It’s a 25-minute walk from the centre of town and the main harbour area.
The bus station has around 10 coach bays and most routes are intercity. There was no timetable on display when I visited but the Parga bay is clearly labelled. The staff speak perfect English so don’t worry about that. I’ve heard that phoning them for information is the best way but I’m one of those people who won’t use the phone unless I really have to.
There is some seating inside the bus station as well as a cafe selling coffee and snacks. The toilets are confusingly signposted but they’re around the back of the cafe (you can go out either door).
There’s no ATM but you can pay for your tickets by card.
Taxis wait by the exit.
A single ticket from Preveza to Parga costs €7 and takes around 1hr 35 minutes. The bus that I took was 30 minutes late leaving, possibly because it was waiting for an incoming arrival.

Parga Bus Stop
The bus stop in Parga is not in the central part of the town but is a 15-minute walk uphill. It’s not really a bus station but there is a small ticket kiosk with timetables taped up.
When I was making the journey from Parga back to Preveza the ticket kiosk was closed though, so tickets were purchased from the driver. There are a few shops and cafes next to the bus stop in case you have time to kill.
